Dear Prayer Partners,

On the Hebrew calendar, we have just entered the month of Tishrei. This is a very special month as we celebrate the beginning of a new season on God’s timetable – the Jewish New Year, and the start of the Fall High Holidays. This is a truly unique time to align our hearts with His Word.

The Fall Feasts begin with the Feast of Trumpets, also called Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashana. This is primarily a day of reckoning, when the Jewish people reflect on whether their names will be written in the Book of Life. The shofar blast is a call to awaken the soul, to repent, and to prepare our hearts for appearing before the Lord. It is also about our voice. Will we be bold to speak truth and righteousness, to stand with the Jewish people, and to speak comfort to them as Scripture commands (Isaiah 40:1-2; Romans 11:30-31). For believers in Yeshua, it also points to the day when the final trumpet will sound at the return of Jesus, the righteous Judge, who will require an account of each of us – whether we have truly believed in Him and lived lives of faith and obedience. He also will judge the nations regarding how they treated the brethren of Jesus, the Jewish people and the nation of Israel (Matthew 25:31-46; Joel 3:1-3).

Following this comes the Ten Days of Awe, a time of reflection and repentance leading up to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the year for Israel. On this day, the high priest would enter the Holy of Holies to make atonement for the people, pointing to the ultimate sacrifice of Yeshua, our Messiah. For believers, Yom Kippur reveals both the seriousness of sin and the depth of God’s mercy, as we rejoice in the complete forgiveness we have through the blood of Jesus. It calls us to humble ourselves before the Lord, walking in repentance, reconciliation and renewed devotion (Leviticus 23:26-32).

The cycle culminates with the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), a week of joy and celebration which also recalls the time when God provided for Israel as they dwelt in booths in the Wilderness. Prophetically, it points to the dwelling of God with His people, which will be fulfilled when Jesus stands on the Mount of Olives to reign as King. God’s presence is already with us through communion with the Holy Spirit and will one day cover the earth as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11:9). When Jesus is reigning in Jerusalem, we will witness all nations coming up to Jerusalem to worship Him (Leviticus 23:33-44; Zechariah 14:16).

Indeed, Sukkot reminds us of our dependence on God, our identity as pilgrims on this earth, and the promise of His coming kingdom. Together, the Fall Feasts paint a prophetic picture: the trumpet of awakening, the cleansing of atonement, and the joy of dwelling with God. They are shadows of Israel’s history but also future signposts, anchoring us in God’s redemptive plan. They invite us to live with urgency, gratitude and hope, to be a people found watching and waiting, with hearts prepared for Messiah’s return, resting in His finished work, and rejoicing in His promise to dwell with us forever (2 Corinthians 5:1-8).

Shana Tovah and Shalom from Jerusalem,

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL AND THE NATIONS

1.  FIJI EMBASSY MOVE TO JERUSALEM

Pray that the opening of Fiji’s embassy in Jerusalem will bear much fruit, fostering strong relationships and business development between Israel and Fiji in the coming years. Please pray that your nation will make this stand as well and move their embassy to Jerusalem. “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

2. ICEJ’s FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Ask the Lord to restrain the enemy and bring calm to the region, so that more Christian pilgrims may come to this year’s Feast. Pray that God’s full purposes for this Feast will be accomplished, and that His presence and joy may be released over the Feast participants as the nations come into unity to worship God. “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” ’ ” (Zechariah 8:23)

3. HOSTAGES AND THE WAR AGAINST HAMAS

Pray for the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, asking God to preserve their lives and bring them freedom. Lift up the IDF soldiers for safety, wisdom and courage. Intercede for Israel’s complete deliverance and that truth and God’s mercy would prevail amid all the media distortions. “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, …to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;” (Isaiah 61:1)

PRAYER FOR THE ICEJ

4. ICEJ OPEN POSITIONS

Please pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send the right people as labourers to fill positions within the ICEJ, both at the Headquarters in Jerusalem and in the nations around the world. Pray for fresh help to join our existing branches and also for open doors in nations where the ICEJ does not yet have a presence or connection. Ask that all who serve would move with one heart in one direction, united in the purposes of God.  “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:38)

5. INCREASE ICEJ’S VOICE

Pray that the Lord would increase the ICEJ’s voice within the global Body of Christ, that churches and pastors would embrace His purposes for Israel, rejecting Replacement theology and false accusations. Ask that individuals encounter Yeshua for full redemption, nations take their stand with the Jewish people, and our reach and influence expand in every nation, fulfilling our calling to comfort Israel as declared in Isaiah 40. “and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,” (Ephesians 6:19)

6. AN ICEJ HOME

Please pray with us that the Lord would further establish the ICEJ in Jerusalem with our own permanent building which can not only house our offices, but also host educational programs and classes, and serve as a venue for conferences and gatherings. “Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began” (Romans 16:25).
