Dear Prayer Partners,

God is building something greater than any earthly institution. His purpose is to reconcile the nations through the Messiah, unite Jewish and Gentile believers in one body, and bring His redemptive work to fulfilment. This is an encouraging prophetic picture of the future and a serious challenge to the Church today.

In Isaiah 66:22, the Lord declares: “For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the LORD, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.” God’s promise concerning Israel’s descendants and name is connected to the permanence of the new heavens and the new earth.

In Ephesians 2, Paul explains how the Messiah brings Jewish and Gentile believers together, breaks down the dividing wall of hostility, and creates one new man. This unity does not erase their distinct identities but reconciles them in the Messiah as members of God’s household.

Yet Scripture also warns us about placing human traditions above God’s Word. Jeroboam established alternative places of worship at Bethel and Dan and devised a feast according to his own heart. His example reminds us that worship must be directed to the Lord according to His truth, not shaped by human authority or political interests.

This provides a parallel for reflecting on later developments in Church history, particularly the Council of Nicaea and the separation of Christian observances from the Jewish calendar. We must examine religious traditions in the light of Scripture, especially when they contribute to distancing the Church from the Jewish people. Paul warns Gentile believers against arrogance toward Israel, reminding them that they do not support the root, but the root supports them.

Let us pray for a deeper understanding of God’s purposes for Israel and the nations. May the Lord remove pride, ignorance, and hostility; restore an appreciation for the Jewish roots of our faith; and help the Church remain faithful to His Word rather than allowing human traditions to shape its theology.

A greater Messianic fulfilment lies ahead for Israel and the whole world. May the Lord prepare His people for that day, deepen our understanding of His Word and make us faithful witnesses to His purposes.

Blessings in Christ!

MONTHLY PRAYER POINTS

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL AND THE NATIONS

  1. For the New Government in Israel. Israel has just held elections and is now forming a coalition government. Let us pray that the Lord would grant wisdom and discernment to the leaders as they assemble and organize the new government. May He guide the process, establish leaders who will govern with integrity, and direct the nation according to His purposes. (Proverbs 21:1)
  2. For the Church to Reject Replacement Theology and Rediscover God’s Purposes for Israel. Pray that the Lord would open the eyes of pastors, church leaders and believers to recognize and turn away from replacement theology. May He restore the Church’s understanding of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and His enduring covenant with Israel. Pray for humility, repentance and a renewed commitment to the truth of God’s Word and His unchanging purposes for Israel and the nations. (Zechariah 8:23)
  3. For Iran and Its Leadership. Pray that the Lord would frustrate plans intended to harm Israel and other nations, and to restrain Iran’s military capabilities. Ask God to bring change for the benefit of the Iranian people and to open the way for freedom and transformation. May the Lord intervene in Iran, bring its leaders to account, and fulfil His purposes for the nation. (Jeremiah 49:35, 38)
  4. For Believers in Jordan. Pray for the believers in Jordan who are facing persecution and for the families grieving the loss of loved ones following the reported attack on their church. Ask the Lord to comfort those who mourn, strengthen the wounded and surround the Christian community with His peace and protection. May He sustain believers in their faith, bring healing to those affected, and give them courage and hope amid suffering. (Psalm 34:18)

PRAYER FOR THE ICEJ

  1. For the leadership of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. Let us pray that the Lord will guide the ICEJ leadership with wisdom, spiritual insight and a humble heart as they carry the ministry forward. May every plan or influence that seeks to hinder the work God has entrusted to the ICEJ be revealed and brought to nothing. Pray for the Lord’s protection over the ministry, that He would preserve its unity, renew its spiritual strength and equip it to remain faithful to the calling to stand with Israel and unite believers worldwide in prayer. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
