Yonatan Nir is an award-winning Israeli documentary filmmaker, photographer, and lecturer. His films have been screened worldwide at international film festivals, museums, and the United Nations.
His acclaimed works include Dolphin Boy, My Hero Brother, Picture of His Life, and The Essential Link. Through his storytelling, Yonatan explores themes of human resilience, trauma, post-traumatic growth, and the profound connections between people, memory, and nature. He has also delivered a TED Talk on DocuTherapy, a pioneering approach that uses documentary filmmaking as a powerful tool for healing and personal growth.
Today, Yonatan hosts and leads DocuNation, an online documentary screening initiative in Israel and internationally. DocuNation offers time-limited screenings of carefully curated films, followed by live conversations with filmmakers and creators, fostering meaningful dialogue and reflection.
