Join us for a critical and collaborative discussion at the Toronto Interfaith Summit Against Antisemitism and Hate, where diverse faith leaders, the Mayor, City Councilors, police officials and community stakeholders will come together to address the pressing challenges of rising hate and antisemitism in our city.
Event hosted By:
City Councilor James Pasternak, Deputy Mayor Mike Colle, and City Councilor Brad Bradford
Location:
City Hall, Committee Room 2
This summit will include:
• Insights and contributions from interfaith leaders who have taken a stand against hate and antisemitism.
• Discussion on the City’s evolving policies around protests and rallies.
• An opportunity for the Mayor, City Councillors, Staff, and TPS to engage directly with interfaith community leaders.
Format:
Selected interfaith groups or representatives will have 5 minutes to present their perspectives. City and police leaders will have an opportunity to respond to what they’ve heard and share key takeaways.
As we come together to build a stronger and safer Toronto, we cannot ignore the alarming resurgence of hate globally.
Recent events, such as the disturbing “Jew Hunt” pogrom in Amsterdam, remind us of the consequences of unchecked antisemitism.
Following the reading of the Proclamation of Unity Against Antisemitism at City Council last week (video enclosed) and support from various Councillors and the Mayor, this summit, led by James Pasternak, is a pivotal moment to stand united as Torontonians and ensure that such acts of hate and violence find no foothold in our communities.
We welcome your active partnership, insights and encourage you to extend this invitation to other interfaith leaders and key stakeholders who share our vision for a safer, more inclusive Toronto for all.
RSVP:
Kindly confirm your attendance by Monday, November 25th to Jenya Drazman at [email protected].
Together, let’s build a city that stands strong against antisemitism and hate.
