Shooting Outside Sons of Jacob Synagogue
The London Jewish community has expressed, through many media reports, being “horrified” and “grieved” over the brazen shooting
outside the historic Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville, Ontario, founded in 1905.
According to reports, as services began to solemnly observe the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, the suspect
Sean Ward allegedly opened fire on Constable Jeff Smith of Belleville Police Service. He was shot at several times and remains in hospital in critical but stable condition. We pray for his full recovery.
