For many years, ICEJ leaders have prayed and sought the right person to represent our global ministry in Poland, an important country for us because of its deep historic connection to the Jewish people in exile. We finally got a very encouraging start in June when an emerging local team organized the official opening of the ICEJ Poland branch at a Baptist center in Warsaw.
The conference was meticulously organized down to the last detail and drew a surprisingly large audience from across Poland. A separate meeting with 17 Polish Christian leaders also showed great openness to collaboration, and many ideas for potential projects were shared.
Growing Christian Support for ICEJ in Poland
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is known and respected by many believers in Poland. For instance, several pastors and leaders have joined ICEJ’s daily Global Prayer Gathering and praised it as a valuable source of information on Israel and the region. Concrete plans for future events are already in the works.
Meet the New ICEJ Poland Team
The team now consists of the National Representative, Pentecostal pastor Tomasz Manko, and two ladies with superb administrative skills, Ewa Dryjanska and Monika Piechcinska. We had approached Pastor Manko on the recommendation of Bishop Marek Kaminski, leader of the Pentecostal church in Poland and Chairman of the Pentecostal European Fellowship. Tomasz Manko has a long history of engagement with the Jewish people, has been to Israel many times, and is now fully committed to leading the new ICEJ branch.
A Unique Opportunity to Serve and Comfort
The conference was clearly marked by divine favour. We felt God’s presence, and there was a remarkable sense of unity and enthusiasm. During our discussions, one subject came up repeatedly: Poland’s land is soaked with innocent Jewish blood, probably like no other country in the world. Many Jews are coming to visit to remember their lost ones. This may create a unique opportunity for the ICEJ in Poland to serve and comfort His people.
