With so many Israelis being repeatedly called up to reserve duty, a large percentage of women are giving birth with their husbands away defending the nation. These women are going through one of life’s most vulnerable moments alone, most of whom are not receiving the emotional, logistical or medical assistance needed.
This situation has further stretched an already-overwhelmed health care system. At Hadassah Hospital, for instance, there is one social worker for the entire Delivery and Maternity department.
The Solution? Project Bambeloo.
ICEJ Canada wants to bless the women of Israel by providing compassionate, professional, and loving personalized care for mothers and their newborns through a local midwife-led postpartum service called ‘Bambeloo’.
Midwives are highly respected in Israel, guiding mothers through safe and empowering births across the country’s medical centers, significantly alleviating the burden on hospitals and social services. Professionally trained and experienced midwives can address 90% or more of these new mothers’ needs and concerns.

Bambeloo aims to create a nurturing environment where every mother feels confident, valued, and truly cared for.
Sponsorship for One-Time Visit at $560 CAD per mother includes:
- Planning session via Zoom
- 1 home visit of two hours:
– Breastfeeding support and guidance
– Postpartum relationship and sexuality guidance
– Guidance before or after circumcision
– Identify situations requiring outside medical consultation
– Full newborn evaluation: breathing, jaundice, nutrition, bowel movements
– Physical, medical, and emotional evaluation of the mother
– Early parenting support: crying, sleeping, bathing, umbilical cord care, gas, creating a daily routine
- Wellness gift box containing nutritious shakes and balm for the mother.
Sponsorship for Full Service at $1800 CAD per mother includes:
- Everything in One-Time Visit
- 3 home visits (2hrs each), enabling midwife to address more of the areas and issues listed above.
- BOT (Birth Oriented Thinking) postpartum processing with a focus on traumatic birth experiences
- Abdominal and pelvic floor rehabilitation using breathing exercises, core muscle strengthening, and the hypopressive technique
- Support through WhatsApp platform for the duration of the postpartum care period
- Summary meeting via Zoom
Add-on meal service: $500 CAD
- One entire week of healthy, tailor-made boxed meals for one mother
