“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all…”  (1 Timothy 2:5-6a)

Dear Prayer Partners,

As we unite in prayer this month, let us remember Paul’s instruction to pray for all men, especially those in authority. He said this is key for us to live quiet, peaceful lives, adding it also is “good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4) The saving “truth” Paul had in mind then follows: “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all…” (1 Timothy 2:5-6a).

Indeed, there is only one way to God (John 14:6). Jesus is the only door to the Father (John 10:9). And he sits at His right hand to ever make intercession for us (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25). Thus, “we have an advocate with the Father” (1 John 2:1). So, as we pray in Jesus’ name, picture him also interceding for us.

Now some may think this exalted position only came after his death, burial, resurrection and ascension, when Jesus sprinkled his blood on the mercy seat in heaven and sat down at the right hand of God (Mark 16:19; Hebrews 1:3, 10:12, 12:2, 22-24). However, he is the lamb slain before the foundation of the world, and he has been mediating between God and mankind since the Creation (Revelation 13:8; John 8:58).

Consider how the pre-Incarnate Christ appeared numerous times in the Old Testament, often as the “Angel of the Lord” or “Angel of His Presence”. He was in the burning bush and told Moses to remove his sandals, indicating he was holy, then proclaimed he was indeed the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Exodus 3:2-6). Jesus was with Israel at Sinai and in the Wilderness, which Paul confirms when writing that the Israelites “drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ” (1 Corinthians 10:5).

Jesus insisted that “no one has seen God at any time” (John 1:18). For He “dwell[s] in unapproachable light” (1 Timothy 6:16). Yet Jesus is God in a visible, approachable form, being “the express image of His person” (Hebrews 1:3). And he appeared to select men and women over and over throughout the Hebrew Bible. Abraham served the Lord a meal (Genesis 18:1-8). Jacob saw God “face to face” (Genesis 32:30). Moses and the seventy elders “saw the God of Israel” (Exodus 24:10-11).

In truth, Jesus was already present and interceding for mankind as far back as the Garden of Eden. God told Adam not to eat from the tree of knowledge, warning “for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17). Yet in the next chapter, Adam and Eve are given something of a reprieve – they will live on until old age but must leave the Garden, work for their food, and experience pain in childbirth. God is holy and thus required consequences for sin. But I believe Jesus mediated with the Father, and the first humans were spared death on the day they sinned, all according to the mercy and foreknowledge of God. So, as we pray for all men, let us appreciate just how much Jesus has intervened for fallen humanity from the start.

Thank you for being so faithful in prayer,

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL AND THE NATIONS

1.  Pray for revival in Israel, that the Spirit of grace and supplication would be poured out, hearts softened, and the nation drawn back to the Lord. (Zechariah 12:10; Ezekiel 36:24ff; Jeremiah 31:31)

2.  Pray for the believing congregations in Israel to rise as a light and prophetic voice in this nation.

3.  Pray for Israeli society to recover from the trauma, loss and economic strains caused by the war, and for unifying leaders who will heal the bitter divisions between left and right, religious and secular, and other internal fault lines enflamed by the long conflict.

4.  Pray for an end to the political infighting over judicial reforms and other issues that has weakened national unity. Ask for Israel’s leadership to have the wisdom, humility, and fear of the Lord needed to guide Israel’s future.

5.  Pray for the Church worldwide, that the deception of Replacement theology would be exposed and rejected, and that Christians would be bold to take a clear stand for Israel. (Luke 8:17; Isaiah 34:8)

6.  Pray for the stronghold of radical Islam, with its violence and terror, to break over the region, that biblical truth will prevail, and that the Iranian regime and its proxies will collapse. (Isaiah 30:12–13)

7.  Pray for a fresh move of God and revival in the nations, that believers would walk in courage, clarity, and obedience in this critical hour. (Joel 3:18)

8.  Pray for the new Trump-led diplomatic blueprint emerging in the region, via the Abraham Accords, the plan to rebuild a peaceful Gaza, and the effort to free Iran from the militant Ayatollahs. Pray that nothing would obstruct God’s purposes for Israel and the region.

9.  Pray for Jewish immigration to Israel, that the Lord would open the gates of Aliyah and propel more Jewish people worldwide to return to their ancestral homeland. (Isaiah 11:11-12; 43:5-6; Ezekiel 36:24) Pray for protection for Jewish communities worldwide amid the rise of global antisemitism, and for Israel to be a refuge for Jews fleeing persecution. (Psalm 121:6)

10.  Pray for the Arabs in Israel, that the lawlessness and gang violence would end, that more Arabs would integrate into Israeli society, and that their hearts would open to the Gospel. (Matthew 9:37-38; John 4:35)

PRAYER FOR THE ICEJ

11.  Pray for a permanent home for the ICEJ in Jerusalem. The Lord is prompting us to transition from leasing to securing our own building to serve as the ICEJ’s global headquarters. Pray for His wisdom, provision, and favour in identifying and acquiring the right property. (Jeremiah 29:11)

12.  Pray for our Preparations for the Feast of Tabernacles 2026. We are reviewing venue options and other important details for this year’s Feast. As we seek the Lord’s direction, please pray that He would guide us to select the right venues, speakers and worship leaders, and that many pilgrims from the nations will gather with us in Jerusalem at Sukkot. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
