ICEJ Update from Israel

July 6 – Day 639
Posted July 8, 2025

Momentum is building towards a new ceasefire and hostage release deal between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, as truce talks have just resumed in Qatar while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is headed for Washington for another meeting with President Donald Trump in the White House. Trump was hoping to announce the Gaza ceasefire in his meeting with Netanyahu on Monday evening in the Oval Office, but it may take a few more days to finalize the terms. The 60-day truce would see 10 living Israeli hostages and 20 bodies returned in exchange for some 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. During the ceasefire, the two sides would also try to reach agreement on the remaining 22 Israeli hostages and who will run the Gaza Strip in the coming years. While in Washington, Netanyahu also hopes to make progress with Trump on improved relations with Syria and Lebanon, as well as possibly Saudi Arabia and several other potential partners in the Abraham Accords. Let us keep interceding that God’s will & purpose will prevail concerning all that is transpiring before us in these times.
